Bobby Joe Long an American serial killer and rapist known as The Classified Ad rapist , The Adman rapist and Robert Joe Long. Long abducted, sexually assaulted, and murdered at least ten women in the Tampa Bay Area in Tampa Bay, Florida in 1984. Long's victims were strangled and/or asphyxiated, one victim died of a knife cut to the throat. He was in possession of a firearm during his crimes and shot at least one of his victims. Long was a distant cousin of fellow serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. Long confessed to the murders and was sentenced to death in1986. In 2019, Bobby Joe Long was executed by lethal injection Union Correctional Institution in Raiford, Florida.

Bobby Joe Long was born on October 14th 1953 in Kenova, city. He was raised by both parents, later only his mother. He was raised as a only child and had no siblings. His father, Joe Long. His mother, Louetta Long. Bobby Joe Long had XYY Syndrome, a rare chromosomal disorder that affects only males. He had a head injury as well as a physically defect. During his education he had academic, social or discipline problems, including being teased or picked on.

Bobby Joe Long used a weapon and was in possession of a firearm during his crimes. He was known to kill at the home of the victim. He would keep personal items from the victim after the crime. Bobby Joe Long used a blindfold or simiar method of covering the victim's eyes. At least one victim was tied, bound, or otherwise restrained during the crime. He positioned or posed at least one body after death. At the time of his crimes he was living with alone at room he rented on Eucalyptus Avenue in Long Beach, California, US, Long also lived alone in Fort Lauderdale, Ocala, Miami and Dade County, where he was known to work as a serial killer.
He was arrested on November 16th 1984 (Age 31), convicted on July 25th 1986 (Age 32), sentenced to death at Union Correctional Institution in Raiford, Florida, US. He was convicted on charges of murder, assault and other possible charges during his lifetime. Bobby Joe Long was executed on May 23rd 2019 (Age 65).

Long abducted, sexually assaulted, and murdered at least 10 women in the Tampa Bay Area in Florida during an eight-month period in 1984. He released his last victim, Lisa McVey, after raping her for a period of 26 hours.
