Herbert Mullin (Herbert William Mullin) an American serial killer who killed thirteen people in California from 1972 to 1973. Despite detailed confessions, prosecutors decided not to try him for the first three crimes, instead focusing on crimes that conflicted with his insanity plea. Mullin's was convicted of two murders in the first degree and nine in the second, and sentenced to life imprisonment.
