Niels Högel a German serial killer and nurse who killed 100 patients by administering unauthorized injections. Högel was originally arrested in 2005 and later sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of six patients. He worked from 1999 to mid-2005 as a nurse in hospitals in Oldenburg and Delmenhorst, Germany. He would inject patients using one of five different drugs including ajmaline, sotalol, lidocaine, amiodarone and calcium chloride. He is said to have acted out of boredom and the desire to show off his resuscitation skills. Niels Höge has confessed to a total of 100 confirmed victims and continues to serve a life sentence in Lower Saxon, Germany. Högel stated he was 'honestly sorry' and hoped families would find peace.

Niels Högel (born 30 December 1976) is a German nurse and serial killer who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of six patients. Högel has confessed to killing 30 patients but in 2017 a police investigation concluded that he was responsible for at least 90 deaths. In November 2017, German prosecutors said that the number of victims was at least 106, with Högel admitting, in October 2018, to murdering 100 patients.
