Carlton Gary (Carlton Michael Gary) an American serial killer known as The Stocking Strangler and the Steakhouse Bandit. Gary would beat, sexually assault and strangle elderly victims, mostly using stockings. An eighth elderly women was beat and sexually assaulted but survived the attack. Gary was convicted of the murders of seven elderly women in Georgia and sentenced to death on August 27th 1986. On March 15th 2018, Carlton Gary was executed by lethal injection at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification State Prison in Jackson, Georgia.

Carlton Gary was born on September 24th 1950 in Columbus, city in Muscogee County, Georgia, United States. He was raised by his mother with help from his aunt and his great-aunt. Gary was raised as a only child and had no siblings. His father, a construction worker who rejected Carlton, Carlton met him only once at (Age 12). His mother, an extremely poor single mother. He had a head injury or brain defect.

In 1975 (Age 24/25) Carlton Gary started his killing spree, during his crimes as a serial killer he was known to rob, strangle, rape, and murder his victims. He was known to kill at the home of the victim. At the time of his crimes he was living with himself, alone at multiple location in New York and Georgia, where Gary was known to work as a serial killer.
He was arrested on May 3rd 1984 (Age 33), convicted on August 27th 1986 (Age 35), sentenced to death by lethal injection at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification State Prison in Jackson, Butts County, Georgia, US. Gary was convicted on charges of murder and other possible charges during his lifetime. Carlton Gary was executed on March 15th 2018 (Age 67).

Carlton Michael Gary (September 24, 1950 – March 15, 2018) was an American serial killer convicted of the three murders of elderly women in Columbus, Georgia, between 1977 and 1978, though he is suspected of at least four more. Gary was arrested in December 1978 for an armed robbery and sentenced to 21 years in prison. He escaped from custody in 1983 and was caught once more a year later.
